My name is Friedrich (nickname ‘Fred’) and my love for level design began the moment I launched the ‘Valve Hammer’ editor and started designing levels and modifications for ‘Half-Life’.

After finding some recognition for my amateur projects, I landed my first professional level design position in 2004 to work at Crytek, on Crysis.

One university degree and some adventures on the business side of the games industry later, I went back to what I love doing the most: working with like-minded people and building fun worlds for players to enjoy.

Since then, I’ve worked in Senior, Principal and Lead Level Designer roles on projects such as Star Citizen, Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR and Off The Grid.

I am based in Germany and whenever I am not making or playing games I am spending time with my family and friends, watching movies, eating good food, following the latest events in the NFL or (try my best to) do sports myself.
